#KIKTheCarbon

At KIK Compounds we are preparing a new project that will help us eliminate our carbon footprint by 2028. We have started producing algae that naturally absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere. As the algae grow, they capture and store carbon: for every gram of algae created, up to two grams of CO₂ are removed from the environment.

This algal biomass is a valuable natural resource. After a simple pretreatment, we will use it in our own polymeric bio composites as a natural filler. The resulting bio-based rubber can then be stored long term in asphalt, bitumen, and construction materials, which keeps the captured carbon locked in durable infrastructure.

This project will allow us to remove CO₂ while creating our new sustainable materials, bringing us closer to our goal of decarbonising our operations by 2028.

Remember: our future depends on the choices we make today!
